An exciting new three year project funded by Chalk & Cheese Local Action Group and managed by Kushti Bok in partnership with Kingston Maurward College to create or expand land based and marine businesses within the Gypsy and Traveller communities.
The Wheels to Learning project has five main objectives:
- To provide a range of land based & marine training opportunities for Gypsies and Travellers in Dorset.
- To enable individuals to receive formal qualifications in land based and marine skills.
- To select training which enables an individual to make improvements to their existing business and consider expansion; or to develop a business idea and create a new business.
- To address the discrimination and social exclusion experienced by our communities by building bridges with training providers and local businesses.
- To create a self-
help network of trainers and businesses within the Gypsy and Traveller communities.
